20 Fun Facts About Item Upgrading

World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade of an item lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also have a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a single unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the gun will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also reroll the stats of the base. This is generally a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. Upgrades can render items inaccessible, unless you're exceptionally lucky.

Armor items can also be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. In the case of chests or helms it will boost its base defense while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain when upgraded and their relative values. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will strike 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu using the circling arrows. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

Making a few improvements to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. In general, the more defense you have on your character, the greater health you can receive from each point. So, it's best to upgrade your armor.

To improve your armor, head to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting the protection needed to survive an entire raid with a few friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also unlock some benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler at Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have some upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are substances in bottles that, when consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. Alternatively the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a craft table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion used and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll yield when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion is upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.

The table for potion can now be constructed using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be mixed in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.

In addition, there are lingering potions, which are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now laid out more in line with the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a small ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't important as a trinket. In some cultures, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be traded at will without losing statistics.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold, or fragments from a rare trinket.

Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. It can be done by a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl of the older one, and have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.

Trinkets can be upgraded once they are no longer useful, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.

Players must upgrade their most valuable items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment they won't replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when deciding which items to upgrade. For example when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm, shoulders, and belt.

After they've become unusable trinkets are able to be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional 1% bonus. Re-upgrading will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still less expensive than buying the new one.
